The Canterbury Rusty Blades is an old timer hockey league located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Although filled with veteran players, the speed of the game moves at a pace far faster then the players can think.

Welcome to the "Canterbury Rusty Blades" Blog! Here you can post some comments about the games as well as any other interesting hockey tidbits.
Returning to the city for Matt's funeral, after being retired in Kingston for 7 years, has brought back many fond memories of teammates and dressing room humour.
With a number of the elder statesmen graduating to Norm's Silver Foxes, it is a strong testament to the health and strength of the Rusty Blade organization.
The friendships made there I now consider to be lifelong...and especially with Matt's passing realize that life is NOT LONG!
It was great to re-connect with so many former players. For those whom I missed I am passing along a "hello" and a "keep your head up". It was difficult not to go to Lorenzo's after the funeral...it would have been so fitting.
